Tiny little "M" was too cute! She fought sleep when she and her mom first arrived at the studio, but once she cozied down in the egg basket with a fuzzy blanket, she was out :) We got to use some of our new props with her, like the adorable bed below, as well as a really cute bunting and lace headband made by our buddy, Erin, at Dinner Time Chimes . She makes our studio some of the cutest props! And I am SO loving that cute little smirk below...

Olde World and "J" { Winston Salem Children's Photographer }

This session was one of those sessions where everything just falls into place. The weather was gorgeous, the sky was overcast so the light was soft, the location was perfect (and practically empty!) and we had the cutest subject for the session :) I was able to shoot 100% natural light without any supplemental light. When I got home and dumped my card, I couldn't believe how amazing the shots were. Little to NO editing, the exposure was perfect, the colors - amazing. I had the toughest time narrowing down the images for mom and dad - they were ALL so beautiful! My husband even got the "magazine cover" shot below, where "J" was sitting on the suitcase and looking away. After finding this location, stocking up on the props and getting such amazing shots of "J", we've decided to offer this session theme - Olde World - as a new Limited Edition for children, families and couples!

Sleepy little "L" { WINSTON SALEM NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY }

Little "L" was a wee little guy - and a sleepyhead, too! He loved cozying down in the egg basket that we tucked him into wrapped in a fuzzy blanket. After having a quick snack, he was out - and we were able to get the cutest shot ever with his head in his hands :) He was such a sweet little guy!

Butterflies and such...

Sometimes it's a fun challenge to get out of the studio and try shooting something other that what you're used to. It gets you out of your comfort zone and forces you to try different settings, adapt to the harsh sunlight and play with lighting to get the correct exposure. It almost resets your brain and creativity! I thought it would be fun to go out to the butterfly garden that we planted in the Spring and try to get some shots of whatever creatures I could find out there, plus the sun was shining so it would be challenging :) Here are a few of the shots that I came away with...

Itty Bitty "K" { WINSTON SALEM NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHERS }

Itty Bitty "K" was an adorable little one! She was very wiggly and alert - making us giggle every time we would get her little hands or feet tucked away - somehow she would manage to wiggle at least one out :) She was also VERY smiley - I love the shot with her GA Tech gear and her smirk!

Baby "A" has arrived!

He was SO tiny, but very wiggly and strong for just two weeks new! He slept almost the whole session through, only fussing a bit here and there when he would get cozy and I would have to move his hand to tuck him and pose him. I got to try out some of our new props with him, including the blue bird hat - and it was ADORABLE! Fall is my favorite time of the year, and tiny "A"'s mommy's favorite, too, so we tried a cute fall themed set-up, along with coaxing big brother in for a few shots :)

CAKE SMASH! { WINSTON SALEM BABY PHOTOGRAPHER }

I laughed SO hard at little S. She was very serious...until we broke out the bubbles. I have NEVER heard a baby laugh SO hard at bubbles - EVER! It was the funniest thing! I laughed the whole time I was shooting - I will admit that I had to delete several shots that were blurry because of camera shake from laughing so hard! S is such a cutie and she had a blast with her cake smash. Once the yummy cake came out, she totally forgot about the bubbles and disappeared into her own little sugary world. Ahhh, to be that age again and be able to cram cake in your face without feeling bad about it :)

Little "E" is 2! { WINSTON SALEM CHILDRENS PHOTOGRAPHER }

:-( All my little clients are growing up! I can't believe that little "E" is two already! Time flies! She brought Monkey along for the session, so we took one of our new props outside for little "E" and Monkey - a baby bed - and she loved it! As hot as it was outside, she still had to tuck Monkey in and make sure he was covered up enough (which was totally buried under the blanket at the very bottom, lol).
