K & G's Christmas Day Wedding { Winston Salem Wedding Photography }

K & G were surrounded by friends and family as they exchanged their vows on Christmas Day! The red roses and poinsettias were gorgeous and the sanctuary was breathtaking! Flash was not allowed during the ceremony (which is pretty common), so I was lucky enough to sneak up into the loft and shoot the wedding from there - and I got some AMAZING shots with my wide angle lens :-) My husband also got a beautiful shot of the flower girl waiting for the ceremony to begin...with the light coming in from the window and surrounding her, the image almost has a surreal, angelic feel to it. Enjoy :-)

Sweet Pea "W" { Winston Salem Newborn Photographer }

It was tons of fun shooting C & S's newborn session! You might remember them from this post. I was so excited to do little "W"'s newborn session! He was such a sweet little one! Here are a couple of sneak peeks for mom and dad...

The "L" Family { Winston Salem Family Photography }

The "L" family still made it to the studio for their family, despite the beautiful snow we got over the weekend! I even talked them into going outside to get a couple shots in the snow! Here are a couple sneak peeks from their session :-)

The Nutcracker Performance { On-Stage Dance Academy }

This was a wonderful performance put on by On-Stage Dance Academy at Mt. Olive Elementary in King! The dancers were so graceful - even the little ones! I had never seen The Nutcracker before, so I was amazed! Here are a few of the highlights from the ballet...

The Nutcracker Portraits Post Two { The Little Ones }

I can't finish posting tonight without adding some shots of the little ones! These little kiddos made me laugh a lot and they really LOVED posing in their costumes!

The Nutcracker Portraits Post One { The Older Kids }

This was a break from the norm for us! On-Stage Dance Academy in Walnut Cove, NC put on The Nutcracker last night (12/12) at Mt. Olive Elementary in King. We photographed the actual ballet (highlights from that will be up in the next couple days!), but here are a few portraits of the dancers in their costumes. It was tons of fun doing these portraits, and I'm serious - these portraits wore me out so much more than shooting a five-hour wedding! Here is part one of our post (I wish I could post ALL of our shots,but we are limited to five photos per post!)...

L and K's Portrait Session { Winston-Salem Portrait Photographer }

I had fun with L & K working on their portrait session in our studio! I met L at the Stokes Stomp Festival in Danbury, NC back in September and she was a fan of our black & white work, so it was no surprise that we decided to do their session in black & white :-) I just LOVE meeting people who share my love for black & whites! There is just so much more emotion and drama in black & whites! Here is a sneak peek for you guys and the whole gallery will be up very soon :-)

PROJECTION PROOFING IS HERE!

I am sooooo excited to announce that our studio is now offering Projection Proofing to our clients! We are the ONLY studio in our area who offers this cool technology :-)

What is Projection Proofing? An amazing experience! You visit our studio for your ordering session and will be seated in our client gallery/waiting area and will be offered refreshments. Once you are comfy, the fun begins! We will project your images on the wall in the exact sizes you are considering, and we can even super-impose frames over your images so you will know exactly how the finished pieces will look on your wall! We can also show you wall groupings of several images and sizes so you can decorate your home with a personal touch :-)

The "G" Boys { King, NC Children's Photographer }

I had a blast with these two cuties during their holiday session in my studio! They were barefoot (my fave!) and in their Christmas PJs, and sooooo funny! I couldn't believe how WELL these little boys behaved, and how AMAZING the shots came out! I even got to incorporate one of my favorite props during the session - my husband's tricycle from his childhood! This thing is over 35 years old :-) Here's a sneak peek for mom - hope you enjoy!

Fuzzy "F" { Winston Salem Pet Photographer }

I love doing pet portraits! This handsome fuzzy guy was so friendly, and playful! He could jump 4 feet high, literally! It was hilarious! We were finally able to get the shot of him lying down at the END of the session, when he ran out of energy and had to take a break!

So I got a new lens...

And it's amazing! The bokeh and the depth of field with this baby are awesome! My loyal photo subject, Daisy Mae (below), didn't mind me firing off a couple test shots at her. Her eyes just pop! This was shot at 50mm with a 1.8 aperture and exposed for 1/125 at 100 iso using only natural light in my studio. Gorgeous!
