B & her big brother { winston salem baby photographers }

 I loved this session - I love all things vintage, lacy and shabby chic, and I was so excited to learn from B's mom that she wanted a vintage-y feel to her images!  I feel like we totally clicked when planning for the session and the day of shooting - the whole session turned out amazing.  B is 15 months old, and honestly, 15-18 months is typically the hardest age to photograph.  It's the age of the beginning of independence, walking, running, not wanting to be still for a minute.  However, B was such a pleasure to work with - she was like a happy six month old that will sit right where you plop them, laugh at your silly faces and not fuss a bit!  She just sat still and posed for me, never tried to escape and was happy to have her big brother join her for a few images at the end!!  I love it when sessions go this smoothly!

I got to try out some of my recent antique store finds - a vintage milking stool, a dough trough, my willow bench and of course my new cream flokati.

The M Family { winston salem maternity photographers }

 This family is always a blast to work with and so down-to-earth, it's like working with friends or family every time they come in for a session.  This session is all about their new little one who will be here soon - the fun part is that they didn't want to know the sex so that it would be a surprise!  Knowing the baby's sex and planning is great, but there's always a chance that the ultrasound was wrong and you get a big surprise at the birth - I'm sure it happens more than we think.  The M family chose not to know the sex of their daughter, A, as well.  I think that is so awesome!  Out of all the maternity clients that we've had come to our studio, I can count on one hand how many couples chose NOT to know the sex of their baby!

We started the session with some shots for A's birthday and ending with some maternity silhouettes.  The session turned out gorgeous and I really enjoyed spending the morning with this family :-)   I am looking forward to meeting their little one - whether it's a boy or girl!

Meet Little Finn { newborn photographers in winston salem }

 This little guy came in for a newborn session and my goodness, was he a smiler!  I love his name - Finn - and I loved how he just snuggled into every pose we put him in.  Finn was born around the Christmas holidays, so he got to show off an adorable Christmas bowtie (which was the only thing he didn't like about the session and slightly complained about!) and he nestled down into a basket for a couple of shots by a mini Christmas tree.  We started his session in a snuggle sack - these snuggle sacks are the best investment ever, aside from the sheep in the studio waiting area.  Those almost make it into every session!

Finn's mom and dad were wanting an Earthy, natural feel for his session and I think we nailed it!  I love his images, and I'm pretty sure his parents do, too!

A Sweet Maternity Session { maternity photographers winston salem }

 

 Here I am, behind on blogging, again!  It's been a busy January, which is great - I'm not complaining at all!  Well, except that I should have blogged this session about a month ago - this super cute couple is coming in tomorrow for their newborn session already!  They were a lot of fun to work with on their maternity session - it was a chilly - okay, downright cold - day outdoors, so we did our best to stay in the sun to keep as warm as possible.  After a few minutes of chatting, I learned that Mr. M was from a super tiny small town called Stoneville in Rockingham County that I just happened to be from, too!  So awesome to learn little things about your clients like this - then we spent the rest of the session chatting about food, greasy restaurants (the best!) and local diners with the yummiest hot dogs and hamburgers!  I love chatting with my clients and getting to know them - it's so fun to find out things that you have in common that you never would have guessed!  I am really looking forward to tomorrow's session and can't wait to meet their little one!

Meet Lola { newborn photographers winston salem }

 

 I was so excited to meet little Lola! I've been working with her mom and dad for a couple of years now - Lola has twin big sisters (see the twins' newborn session here) and I couldn't wait to meet this sweet little girl. She was so happy and quiet - she literally slept through the entire session without making a peep! 

 

We played with lots of our new props - a sweet pink Snuggle Sack and matching bonnet and gorgeous authentic Greek Flokati furs. We even got to use some of our new mohair bonnets and stretch wraps for her session as well! I am loving the cuteness and how adorable her session turned out! I love my job and being able to capture these sweet moments for my clients!
