8th Annual Pet Food Drive { dog photographers winston-salem }

It's time for our 8th annual pet charity event and food drive!  I look forward to this event every year, when I get to spend a day rolling around on the floor and and getting lots doggy kisses.  Cats are welcome, too!  Get some gorgeous images of your fur babies and do something good for our community at the same time.  Our annual pet charity event, Warm Hearts for Wagging Tails, collects pet food, treats and chew toys in lieu of session fees for local animals in need. 

All donations will go to East Stokes Outreach Ministry in Walnut Cove, NC.

Saturday, January 14th, 2017
10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Please bring two small bags of dog or cat food for each pet being photographed as payment for your session fee.  Prints and digital negatives are sold separately.  Sessions last 15 minutes and space is very limited and books up fast each year.  Call early to reserve your furry family member's spot!  

An appointment is required for this special charity event!

We will happily accept extra bags of pet food, canned pet food, treats, toys, leashes, collars or other pet supplies that are needed and gratefully appreciated.

Sadie & Nick { pet photographers winston salem }

 

Sadie and Nick...

Oh my goodness!  Sadie and Nick were so sweet the morning that we went to their home for a pet session!  It was getting hot already so we tried to stay in the shade, but Sadie made me giggle when she SMILED at me first thing when we got there.  She really smiled.  I giggled because it reminded me of my Gretchen that we just recently adopted who also smiles!  Smiling dogs - they are the best!
We did a couple of shots of Sadie (who was a major HAM and loved posing for pictures) and Nick (who tried to play shy) together, and we also did some individuals of the two.  Sadie has a kitty buddy who kept trying to sneak into the pictures, too, named Pal - I was even able to snap a quick behind the scenes shot of the two cuddling as we were finishing up the session!  Their humans (who were also extremely nice and fun to work with) tell me that Pal and Sadie snuggle and hug ALL THE TIME and follow each other around!  It was so cute - like the unlikely animal friends that you see on television!  :)

Tank and his Humans { pet photographers winston salem }

 

An evening with Tank and his humans...

Tank was such a sweet boy.  And he loved his burgers.  His mom contacted me for a session with the family and focusing on Tank due to his quickly failing health and I connected with her in an amazing way.  I had just lost my sweet Daisy Mae a month prior and we had been through so many of the same things, and I was able to be there for her and that helped me with the healing process as well.  It's so hard losing a pet - no matter how long you've had them, they become family members and it's agonizing making decisions about their health and always second-guessing yourself and wondering if you could have done things differently!  Tank was so sweet the day that I met him - his mom brought burgers with her for bribing - his favorite treat - and they totally worked!  We were able to do some family shots with everyone, some cute shots like the photo below of Tank and his mom with her holding a photo of Tank as a puppy, and even a photo of him with his little fur brother, Jack.  Tank's mom is getting married, so we were even able to sneak in a few engagement shots incorporating Tank, too!  I know Tank was loved and had an amazing long life - especially for his breed - and I truly enjoyed spending that evening with him and his family, and being able to photograph some special moments for them to keep his memory alive forever.  Dogs are so special to me and have such a huge impact on their humans' lives - I love meeting every dog that I come across and hearing their story, as told by their human.  I especially love being able to capture their personalities, which are so individual, just like humans, and have the ability to stop just a brief moment of time for their humans to look back and remember their loving eyes, wagging tails, happy faces and sometimes even smiles.  Since the session, Tank has crossed Rainbow Bridge and is now at peace, and is so very missed.

Bestie Mini Sessions { child photographers winston salem }

 Finally a sweet session to capture friendship between your little and their bestie! Bestie can be a favorite toy or lovey, a treasured pet, a best human friend or a parent/grandparent/sibling!

Crystal & Lily { family photographers winston salem nc }

  

I just love Crystal and Lily.  She came in for the first time in 2012 and we just clicked immediately!  We both have tiny dogs and we have so much in common!  Lily is a sweetheart, too - at first, she was shy around us and wouldn't come to us, but now she comes right to us and jumps up for us to hold her :)

We met at Tanglewood for this session - it is really lovely in the summer.  It was super HOT and humid for the session, but you would never know from looking at their gorgeousness.  We've done a lot of sessions with Crystal and Lily (Valentine's Day, Hot Chocolate, Winter Wonderland, Spring, Summer, Winter) and this has to be my most favorite of them all.  Everything turned out perfect (aside from the heat!) and the colors are so pretty.  Love!

I've really enjoyed getting to know these two over the past couple of years, and I'm looking forward to meeting the rest of their family later this Fall to do a family session!
