The Carolina Weddings Show has been POSTPONED...

It seems like every time we have something planned, the weather decides to drastically change and snow! What is up with that? Last time we planned a free weekend so my husband and I could take a Saturday off (which is our busiest day!) and drive to Statesville, NC to park the car, walk the town, browse the antique shops (I find awesome props in these places!) and hang out together. Well, we ended up getting the biggest snowstorm we have had in a LONNNNGGG time. We still took a snow day and had a snowball fight, so it wasn't all that bad :-)

Here we are again, been planning and working on our booth layout and design since August, it's supposed to reach 60 degrees today and, you guessed it! Snow and Wintry Mix (at this point they are calling for 5-6 inches) beginning Friday and lasting throughout Satuday. Sooooo - The Carolina Weddings Show at the Benton Convention Center in Winston Salem has been postponed due to the forecast of icy weather this weekend. They have moved it to Saturday, February 13th, same time (11am-4pm), same place (Benton Convention Center).

I guess this leaves me with another free snow day (YAY!) and a little extra time to get everything together for the show. Make sure you stop by and say hi!

Little Miss "E" { Winston Salem Baby Photographer }

I had so much fun with Little Miss "E" and her mom this morning during their session! We laughed a lot, got some adorable shots, and I really enjoyed getting to know them! We had sooooo much in common, and our personalities just "clicked"! Mom is SO creative and talented, I'm going to have her create some new custom tutus, bows and newborn props for me :-) Plus, she will be available for hair & make-up for our boudior sessions! How cool is that? Here is a sneak peek of this little red-haired beauty...

What Little Boys are Made Of { Winston Salem Newborn Photography }

I just absolutely love newborn sessions! Sometimes you get a sleepy little one who is willing to be placed in any prop or be undressed for the naked baby shots and sleeps through it all, or sometimes you get the alert one who just doesn't want anything to do with props or hats or cameras, or especially getting undressed and COLD!

This little guy was a bit fussy at first, until we brought in his big brother (who you might recognize as a star in our studio!) and then he was perfectly fine! I could see the bond these two little guys had already, and can only imagine how close they will be growing up. And I'm sure they will be a handful for mom, lol :-)

Sweet Little "A" { Winston-Salem Newborn Photographer }

I had so much fun photographing this adorable little two week old sweet pea :-) She was VERY alert already, and so cooperative with the hats and prop changes. I got some adorable shots of this little cutie, and yes, I caught "the yawn"! Enjoy!

{ Warm Hearts for Wagging Tails } Pet Photography

I am sooooo excited to annouce our first Warm Hearts for Wagging Tails Pet Charity Event! This is a special two-day event (February 6th & 7th) to support and benefit the Stokes County Humane Society. We are accepting appointments now for the event and ask that each client bring an unopened bag of dog food or cat food in exchange for a FREE 20 minute Pet Session and special package pricing for your favorite fuzzy friend!

The condition of today's economy isn't only affecting humans. It's also leaving thousands of pets (and homeless animals) hungry and on the streets. Shelters are overflowing and pet owners are being forced to give up their best friends because they can't afford to feed them. What can you do to help?

We know money is tight right now, so we're offering FREE SESSIONS to raise our paws for a cause.

Bring a bag of dog food or cat food to this very special event and receive a FREE Pet Portrait Session and special package pricing for your favorite furry friend! We will also HAPPILY accept unopened treats and chew toys for pets in need.

Sessions are VERY LIMITED, last 20 minutes and are BY APPOINTMENT ONLY, so schedule yours today before they're all gone!

{ Studio Snow Day! }

Okay, okay - I know I'm about two weeks behind on this post! I was so swamped with holiday orders that I almost totally forgot about my personal stuff! I guess that's a good thing, though :-)

The studio took a snow day a couple weeks ago when we got a beautiful snow storm. I was able to take the day off, bundle up and play in the snow with my husband, take lots of photos and drink lots of coffee to keep warm. We finished the evening with snuggling on the couch and watching a movie in fuzzy socks (just me, not him, lol) and a warm blanket. I could definitely use more snow days like this in the future!

It has been a LONG time since I can remember it snowing this early into the winter! I absolutely LOVE the snow (not crazy about cold weather in general, but if it's snowing, it's worth it!) and took lots of photos of the snow and the birds visiting my feeders for a easy snack. Here are a couple of my favorite shots...
