Oakes's Cake Smash { winston salem baby photographers }

Oakes was a sweet, shy little guy that came to our studio for a cake smash mini session for his first birthday!  He played bashful, but flirty at the same time - he kept me giggling through the session!  I got to use some new props for Oakes's session, like my new gray flokati fur rug, a new gray backdrop and a fun gray and denim shabby bunting by Dinner Time Chimes.  Love this set!

He was unsure at first about the cake, but once he got to taste it, it was over!  He took his time, enjoying and savoring every sweet bite :)  He would occasionally look up to make sure eating it was still okay!  So cute!

Quick Tip Tuesday { white balance quick trick! }

 Another post in a fun, weekly series that we hope to keep rolling!  Each Tuesday we'll post a new quick business tip for prop making, marketing, lighting or some other tidbit that might help you out!  Even if you're not a photographer, you might still find something to apply to your field of business that may save you time or money :)

This week's quick tip:

An easy White Balance trick!

If you're not ready to shoot in manual mode and use a specific temperature setting to deal with your white balance, grab some index cards!  Set your white balance to "Auto" and place an index card next to your subject.  Once you open your RAW file, if your camera didn't get the white balance correct, you can adjust it by using the index card as your white point.

The B Siblings { family photographers in winston salem }

 


I loved working with this sweet family of siblings!  They beat this crazy snowy weather by about an hour, and it started right after their session!

These kiddos were so good and cooperative for us - even putting up with our intentional name mix-ups and silly jokes.  I can't help but love working with children - every one has their own opinions, stories to share, and personality - these were just great kids to work with!  I can't gush enough about how much I enjoyed their session.  We did group shots, mini group shots and individuals, and acted silly and laughed the whole time, and the images turned out great!

The S Girls { child photographers in winston salem }

 

So much gorgeousness going on during this session!  The S girls came in for a session and they were so much fun!  The personalities, their brown eyes, their sweetness.  

I love red hair so much - big sister L was shy at first but quick to warm up and tell me all about her favorite cartoons and how much she loved her cowboy boots (which go perfectly with her dress!), I just loved her personality.  Little sister L was equally adorable with her sweet smiles, giggles and love for her Sophie giraffe!

Farm Buddies Mini Sessions with a Live Baby Goat { in winston salem }

We love having the opportunity to incorporate animals into our themed mini sessions, and this will be the last chance until next year! Exclusively ours... and extremely limited spots! This theme fills up quickly, so be sure to book early to guarantee your spot!
