Christmas Family Photography Sessions { winston salem family photographers }

 

The leaves have fallen, the smell of gingerbread fills the air, greenery adorns railings and wreaths dress-up doors, and I just bought red lip gloss...the holidays are HERE!

Thanksgiving is late this year, which gives us an extra week to plan our Thanksgiving party, but that means that Christmas will be here one week sooner than usual, giving us even LESS time to get our shopping done! I realize that I have one less week to procrastinate this year on finding the perfect gifts for our families.

Family portraits are a fun, easy gift that parents and grandparents will love! Photo ornaments, framed prints, bragbooks - just to name a few. We're booking our Holiday Family Minis now through December 14th in gorgeous locations such as Old Salem, Tanglewood Park and other festive locations in the Triad.

Fantabulous 30 minute mini family photography sessions are available outdoors at a location of your choice in Winston Salem, Clemmons, Greensboro, High Point or any other location in the Triad!
(weather permitting - in the case of rain or storms, your session will be rescheduled)

winston salem childrens photographers { Easter Mini Recap #2 }

 

 

{ EASTER MINI HIGHLIGHTS } A quick post to highlight a favorite image of mine from each of the sessions we had from our Easter minis.  We had two sets - one was a fun, vintage mantel that I found at an antique store in Virginia - flaky, peeling paint and all - I SO loved the way it looked that I had to snatch it up (it was a steal for the price, too) - it will look great upstairs when we're not using it for sessions in our living space with a fun, mossy "S" for Smith, and maybe a statuesque bird figure, too.  Pinterest, here I come...

The lovely lace shabby bunting was created by our friend at Dinner Time Chimes - she is so creative and crafty!  The distresssed vintage chair was another antique store find for just $6!  We did attach some burlap to fill the hole of the mantel - I was torn at first about leaving it open, but once we covered it, I loved it!  Plus it was less sun that I had to fight with and try to balance ;)

Our second set was just simply hanging out in the grass.  At this time last year, we had bulbs sprouting, flowers budding, trees were blooming, our forsythias were open and in full bloom, and Spring was everywhere.  This year we had nothing.  Just brown-ness.  But, luckily, we had dead nettle making it's usual Spring appearance in the grass - yes, it's a weed, but it's flowery and colorful, so we embrace it!  

I have to send another { thank you } shout out to our buddies at Buffalo Creek Farm and Creamery for letting us borrow the two fuzzy bunnies for the weekend.

{ The Bunnies } have come and gone - they were super sweet and behaved quite well! 

I have to start off with a huge { THANK YOU } to Buffalo Creek Farm and Creamery for providing the fuzzy little critters for our sessions (ha, and the yummy fresh chevre cheese we had for lunch!).  I did have lots of inquiries about the bunnies being available for purchase - yes, the farm does sell their bunnies.  Just visit their website above or stop by their farm store and they'll be happy to talk with you about them!  Also, thanks to my amazing husband for all of his help and hard work chasing, wrangling, corraling and assisting with everything.  And I can't forget to thank Dinner Time Chimes for the shabby chic pastel lace bunting that perfectly coordinated with all of our little subjects' outfits! 

The week started with me tearing my LAST contact on Monday, placing a super quick order online to get replacements...and so hoping they would get here in time for our sessions.  I had to hang out nerd-style with my glasses all week while I waited.  Not that I have anything against glasses - but for me, when shooting, I just feel like I have tunnel-vision when I'm wearing glasses - I can only see straight ahead of me and they get in my way!  Just in time, they arrived halfway through our first session on Friday.  Saved!

Overall, we had 21 sessions over the span of two days of shooting.  25 children and babies in total, and two bunnies to rotate for the sessions.  We had lovely Spring weather, but some fierce winds - our set was triple strapped and tied down!  I was so impressed that we had ZERO no shows or cancellations this year - everyone kept their appointments and most showed up 15-20 minutes early!  My husband accidentally double-booked a session, but with everyone arriving early, we were able to work them in without getting off-schedule. 

{ HIGHLIGHT FOLLOW-UP } I'm getting sessions edited as quickly as possible and will post again with highlights from each session soon :)  I wanted to share a quick pic of the fuzzy sweetness in the mean-time.

{ happy holidays, thanks & we're closed for the holidays }

{ re-cap }  2012 was an amazing year for us!  It was our 5th year in business, we met lots of wonderful new people, captured tons of sweet memories and had a blast doing it!  We want to sincerely thank all of you for your business and for helping our studio continue to grow and flourish!  You guys are the foundation of our business - without you, we wouldn't be able to do what we do, and love doing it! 

{ happy holidays }  We also want to wish all of our wonderful clients and friends a safe and happy, warm and cozy Christmas and healthy and prosperous New Year! With the holiday rush, we haven't been able to find the time for regular blog posting, but with the holidays winding down and the New Year approaching, we'll be back to posting soon!  Yay!  We are so excited to start a brand new year - we have so many fun things planned already!

{ reminder } The studio will be closed through January 2nd for the holidays and for some much needed re-fueling, relaxation and family time!

2012 Halloween Charity - Best EVER!

BEST.  YEAR.   EVER.

We had SO much fun at our 2012 Halloween Charity and Open House!

We had lots of uber cute goblins stop by the studio and their parents brought lots of canned and boxed goods to be donated to East Stokes Outreach Ministry! We are SO happy to let you guys know that this year has been our biggest yet, and we more than DOUBLED our collection amount from last year!  I'm so excited to have such wonderful clients that participated - we were able to collect 172 items to go to needy families in our area! Thank everyone SO much for thinking about those in need and participating in our event!





Thanks again to everyone who participated! 172 items - that's so exciting guys! We SERIOUSLY have the best clients ever!

Oh my, it's already that time again!  Holiday Minis!

This year's fun theme is { Warm & Toasty }

Get into the holiday spirit with our 2012 Holiday Limited Edition “Warm & Toasty” theme complete with hot chocolate, marshmallows, peppermint swirls and falling snow!

Sessions by appointment only - no walk-ins!

October 15th - December 8th

10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. daily.

• includes 9 -15 fully retouched images to choose from •

• $35.00 session fee for one child, add $5.00 for each additional child in the same session •

*No liquids will be used during session, so no worries about getting messy! Please let us know if it’s okay for your child to have marshmallows prior to session.

We recommend dressing your child in either Christmas pj’s or a casual winter outfit with boots, hat and scarf.  We do NOT recommend formal holiday clothing for this session theme.

*PLEASE NOTE:  We will NOT be booking any holiday sessions after December 8th to allow us time to get caught up on edits.  All orders must be received by Dec. 15th to ensure holiday delivery.

{ ORDERING DEADLINES }

*Custom Framing must be ordered no later than November 28th to ensure delivery on on before December 21st.
*Custom Ornaments and Jewelry must be ordered by December 1st or we can not promise that it will arrive in time for the holidays.
*Fine Art Canvas Gallery Wraps must be ordered by Saturday, December 8th.
*I'm sure you know that custom products (such as Holiday cards, Storyboards, Accordion Albums, and Storybooks/Brag Books) DO take a couple of days for creation, editing, proofing and making changes, etc., especially during busy times, such as the holidays. These customized products HAVE TO BE FINALIZED and sent to print by Saturday, December 15th in order to get them back before Christmas.
*All other prints and mounted prints must be ordered by Saturday, December 15th in order to get them back before Christmas.

The studio will open for pick-ups (by appointment only) through Friday, December 21st at 5pm, and then we will be closed throughout the holidays and will not reopen until Wednesday, January 2rd, 2013.
